Google Pixel Warranty Check: Everything You Need to Know

Google Pixel phones come with a 1-year limited warranty from Google and are eligible for Preferred Care (Google's extended warranty program). Here's how to check warranty status before buying a used Pixel or to verify your own coverage.

Google Pixel Warranty Check Methods

Method 1 — Google's Device Support Page:

  1. Go to support.google.com/store/troubleshooter/3333112
  2. Sign in with the Google account linked to the Pixel
  3. Your Pixel's warranty status, expiry date, and Preferred Care status are shown

Method 2 — Settings on Device: Settings → About Phone → Device Status → warranty information (varies by Android version)

Method 3 — IMEI Check: imeicheckpro.com premium report includes Google Pixel warranty status.

Google Pixel Warranty Periods

  • Pixel 6, 6 Pro: 1 year limited warranty
  • Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 7a: 1 year limited warranty
  • Pixel 8, 8 Pro: 1 year limited warranty; Preferred Care extends to 3 years
  • Pixel 9 series: 1 year limited warranty; Preferred Care available
  • Pixel Fold: 1 year limited warranty

Google Preferred Care

Preferred Care is Google's extended warranty and accidental damage program. It adds:

  • Extended hardware warranty to 2–3 years total
  • 2 accidental damage claims per year (screen break, liquid damage) with a service fee
  • Express replacement — new device shipped before you send the damaged one

Preferred Care is tied to the device's IMEI and is transferable with the device if sold.

Google Pixel: Finding Your IMEI

  • Dial *#06#
  • Settings → About Phone → IMEI
  • The SIM tray on Pixel phones does not engrave the IMEI — use Settings or *#06#

Buying a Used Google Pixel: Warranty Considerations

Google Pixels are primarily sold in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Singapore. Buying a Pixel from outside these official markets (grey import) means no local Google warranty support. Always verify the Pixel's purchase region via IMEI check before buying.
